Peaceful hotel located in a very nice area close to the local National Park, the restaurants and the city centre. A good choice of nice food. Stunning and beautiful location, 5 minutes' walk to Nossa Senhora da Abadia. Honestly no complaint.

For me it was magic to stay in such a place. In an old monestery, well kept, calm, good service, pool, on the countryside, beautiful rooms with an oldstylish balcony. We didn´t travel by car, although it was very easy to find our way by bus. It takes 50 min from Braga and the bus stops just outside the Pousada. The employees speaks good english.
If it had cost less I would have stayed longer. Beeing in Portugal I thought we just had to visit a Pousada at least once.

I loved everything: the staff, the Souto Moura interpretation, having dinner in a 800-year old room, the food, the huge fireplace where you can curl up with a book, the lovely surroundings, the church nearby and the the easy access to all Peneda-Gerês.

This small luxury gem is a mind-blowing masterpiece set in a beautifully renovated historical building. The modern twist on monastery life is flawlessly executed, creating jaw-dropping moments around every corner. The spaciousness of the property ensures a tranquil and relaxing stay, making it the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. The attentive staff, especially the head waiter, made our honeymoon evening truly special. The restaurant's orange cake made from locally sourced Amares oranges is simply to die for. With breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, this hidden treasure is the ideal destination for those seeking a serene and captivating retreat. The location is ideal for exploring Geres and the mountains, and it's conveniently close to Porto. The facilities go beyond what pictures could capture, with comfortable rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, and even activities like hiking, canoeing, fishing. The cherry on top was the delicious breakfast and magical dinner experiences we had. This place truly left us in awe and longing to stay for months. Don't miss out on this super impressive and stunning paradise.

This converted monastery provided an exquisitely memorable retreat in the verdant hills of northern Portugal. Our room had breathtaking views of the valley opposite. The helpful staff suggested hikes at the local National Park. We loved taking a dip in the pond right in front of our Suite. Breakfast buffet was resplendent with many hot and cold choices.
The lack of basic information on the local area was a downside.

Serene nature, relaxing stay. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests, it's a serene location for a relaxing city break. The hotel amenities such as the swimming pool and the day spa provide the perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploration. The breakfast and dinner menus offer a good variety of dishes using fresh ingredients sourced locally, which make for a delightful culinary experience.
Poor room maintenance, unhelpful staff. Some of the rooms needed maintenance, and the elevator didn't work correctly, which made accessing certain areas of the hotel challenging.

I felt like a hermit in this former monastery. Loved the marble pool, the stunning views, and the delicious food. The austere decor matched my exquisite taste.
Couldn't sleep well due to the noisy road. Just what I needed, more traffic sounds to add to my peaceful retreat.

We loved every moment of our stay at this hotel. The location was stunning, nestled in the hills of a National park, with views overlooking the valley. The hotel facilities were excellent, from the beautiful pool to the lovely pond right in front of our Suite. We also appreciated how this hotel was sensitive to the fabric of the old monastery.
Nothing, no complaints at all. We had a wonderful time!
